Vintage Wooden Bird Tag

Welcome back everyone.  Today's showcased project is a lovely vintage tag made out of a wooden bird block for Michael's. This wood cut out was on the dollar rack and goes to show yo that you can put paper on anything.  :D

Here is what you will need:

I mad this embellishment out of stuff I already had making a lollipop out of some lace ribbon and added white feathers, pearls, and a gold brad to it.  You can see that two trinkets were added to the black hanging loop.

Paper was traced out and glued down to the wood on both sides. The edges were then inked up to give that old age appeal to it.   Glitter mod podge was used to protect the paper.  I stamped out the live laugh love and cut it into 3 pieces then inked up the edges and heat embossed them.  Added some pop dots to them to give some dimension.

This really turned out  way better than I had expected It will defiantly be used for something.  Thanks for stopping by and visiting.

Hugs and Blessings,
Meighen

Goth/Chick Tag?

Who would have thought that butterflies and sculls could go so well together with the right colors.

This tag involves a lot of elements too it and nothing to do with the Cricut.

Paper and embellishments are all you need along with adhesive and red tape.

These beautiful hand made butterflies are made by Deanna.  She is part of our craft community.  You may know her from Facebook  with her awesome eggs that she decorates.  She is a gal of many talents.

These butterflies come in different sizes and are inexpensive and wonderful quality..  They add a great design element to any project.  To check Deanna G. out on Etsy go to:

It's Almost Spring Tag

Well the sun is shining and I and I am studying away today.  I finally decided to take a break form my balancing equations  and oxidaion numbers in chemistry to do something I love.   As we all know and can probably agree on, crafting is relaxing.

Here is what I made:

Here is what you will need:

Pretty Paper ( I made my own with the printer by adding a picture via a watermark all over the paper), a tag, glue, lollipop flowers (mine are from Oriental Trading Company), pearls, spring stamps ( I used SU stamps and a butterfly from a scrappy moms set), marker to color in the flowers and blender pen ( I have Marvay markers and what I did was sucked up the color from the marker onto my blender pen and used the blender pen to color with.),  Versamark and embossing powder, heat gun,  sponge dauber and soft suede ink to ink up the edges and all around the paper,  and some fun ribbon or twine.
Hope you enjoy my project and try it out for yourself.
Hugs and Blessings,
Meighen

St. Paddy's Day Blog Hop

Hello everyone and welcome to the St. Paddy's Day Blog Hop hosted by one of my crafty BFF's Denise  over at  http://deesdesignsfrommyheart.blogspot.com/     .  This is also the start of the hop..  If you are here from Lori over at http://thepaisleyturtle.blogspot.com/ , then you are in the right spot.  If you are here just stopping by, you won't want to miss all of the projects on this hop  and will want to start at the beginning with Denise.
Thanks Denise for letting me take part in this super fun HOP.
The theme for this hop is anything green and use a 4 leaf or 3 leaf clover.

This clover tag is from the Give a hoot Cartridge and is cut at 5 inches using .22 thickness chip board.  DCWV paper was used and cut out 2 times using the flip feature on one so that it would match the back side of the tag.
Ribbon was wrapped around the stem of the clover and sparkling beads were added for fun.
Lime green stickles were added to the edges of half of the clover and buttons on the same side.

St .Paddy's day stickers were added to this tag also.
The The pot of gold I cut out by and and added some gun metal stickles to it to give it that textured look.  The gold pieces weer cut out using the scraps from the Fiskars scallop border punch.  I added yellow stickles to some of those too.  I ♥ Stickles :D

A peachy face was used to add character to the tag and green bling added to imitate a small face outline.

Happy St. Paddys Day everyone.  Drink lots of Green beer or other green beverage and have a great time.

Scrapbookaholic By Abby DT Challenge #1 Wacky March Holidays

HI everyone and welcome to the first Scrapbookaholic by Abby  Design Team Challenge .  Our task and yours if you so choose to try it...... is to pick a crazy March holiday from http://www.holidayinsights.com/moreholidays/march.htm and make something.  This sight is not your typical holiday site.  It has some really fun holidays you might want to craft about.  For example, National pig day or Peanut Butter Lovers Day.  lol.  I picked Fragrance Day which is on March 21st.  To take part in this challenge and others to come, you need to head over to Abby's blog by clicking HERE.  You can also get a look at the other DT member creations.  Leave your project there under the MR. Linky there.  There is also a chance to win some candy. :D

I really hope you decide to join us on this and all of the challenges.  We have two per month every two weeks so come craft with us and share your talents..  :D
A big thanks to our sponsor http://www.cosmocricket.com/ for Challenge #1.
I decided a vintage perfume tag was in order for this challenge.

*The poem is something I found online and is not by me.*

Here to the right is what you will need

For this challenge, I used the Forever Young Cricut Cartridge.  The perfume bottle is cut at 3.8 inches (using my Gypsy) and .22 thickness chipboard.

The flip feature was used to make sure that the back piece of paper fit properly.
The paper is from Stampin UP.
I used my 450 adhesive to glue down my paper.  I inked up the edges and all around the center with  chocolate chip ink (Stampin Up)and Ancient Rome ink (Angle Company) to add the aged look.
I then used my sparkle Mod Podge  all over the front and back of the tag.
The stamp on the front is from the Scrappy Moms Love Notes stamp set.  I used StazOn black ink for that.
I used some tinsel ribbon for the perfume tube to give it some glimmer. :D
Lots of bling and pearls were used on this project.  I ♥ Bling.
Two Prima roses were added to complete the vintage feel of the tag.

Gold tinsel ribbon was used on both sides of  the tube of the bottle to add some shimmery flair and give it a more rounded look.

The finishing touch is on the bulb of the bottle.  I used Crackle Accents to make it look as if it had been squeezed and added some pearls around it.

I hope you all enjoyed my first DT project and also that you take part in the challenge yourself.
HUGS and Blessings,
