Hi everyone. It's that time again. Time for another Scrapbookaholic by Abby DT Challenge. First let me start off by saying thank you to all of the the crafters participating. WOW, we are all so very excited on how many we have received on each challenge. Keep that talent coming.
On to the challenge.........As always you have two weeks to participate and all you have to do is follow the theme as your directions. To participate you have to go to Abby's blog by clicking the link http://www.scrapbookaholicbyabby.com/ and link up to Mr Linky.
This weeks theme is to acknowledge the ASPCA. We all love and are grateful for all of the hard work, time and effort that animal shelters and its volunteers put into such a noble cause. If you would like to kow more about the ASPCA click HERE.
Really..... I should stop typing and get to the good stuff. The challenge is to make a project using a pet/animal and the color orange. Simple right........
I decided to make a layout using my cat ERNIE. Ernie truly is a rescue. We found him 7years ago when my roommate brought him home. It's mommy decided to leave it behind to die as he was the runt of the litter. My now husband (boyfriend then) and I decided to take him it as our own. He was covered with fleas and hand not opened his little eyes yet. He really was a newborn kitten. We did everything we could to teach him to use the cat box, ween him off of the nose dropper and be a playful kitten. Seven years later he is healthy and the love of my life besides my DH of coarse.hehe ;)
Here is a scrapbook Layout just for him.
For the lettering I used the Gypsy Font and welded them together both his name (cut at 1 1/5 inches) and BFFs. The arrows (cut at 2 inches) are form the Home Decor Cartridge.
On this picture i folded the ribbon and cut the ends of the ribbon. Used a lot of ORANGE of coarse :D
Stickles (in orange peel) were added to the BFF and the arrows only.
To the right is my cats name and I used orange flock to give a different texture and element.
On this pick stage left :)....I used the Stampin Up scallop border Punch. I also got to use my new sewing machine to zig zag stitch and my I-Rock bling on the punched border. Isn't her cute?
On the bottom here I did the same but change the stitch
Our sponsor for this weeks challenge is one of my favorite places to shop on line......OH MY CRAFTS WOOT WOOT...They have donated a 15 dollar gift certificate to shop at there store. How totally awesome. To be eligible you must participate in the challenge. Click HERE to head to Abby's blog and add your entry.
