Its all about autism this month

This is a special month to celebrate  Autism Awareness.  Did you know that the CDC Reports Autism Prevalence Rate of 1 In 110 American Children, 1 In 70 BoysFor more info  go to http://www.autismspeaks.org/index.php.

I decided to use the puzzle piece for my project.
The puzzle pattern reflects the mystery and complexity of autism. The different colors and shapes represent the diversity of those living with the disorder. The brightness of the ribbon up top signals hope.

This project is a scrapbook layout showcasing a beautiful poem on the internet.  It ( the poem)  inspired this LO and made me really think about what these children and adults have to go through.

Each puzzle piece was cut at 2.5 inches and run through various Cuttlebug folders.
The puzzel pieces were also  popped up on pop dots.

The letters left over were stuck down  with Zig 2-way glue and Stickles were added for bling.  I have to have my bling. :D
The poem and other words were printed off of the computer.

Click the pic below to read the poem.

As a last touch buttons were added to add a different, less square element.

Hugs and Blessings,

  4. Wow, the poem hits right on the money. I have had the pleasure in life to know several individuals, mostly young children, with autism. It seems to me that they are no different that other children if you have patience to understand they learn on different levels just as other children without the disorder do.
    GREAT LO....Kudos!!!!!
