HI everyone and welcome to the first Scrapbookaholic by Abby Design Team Challenge . Our task and yours if you so choose to try it...... is to pick a crazy March holiday from http://www.holidayinsights.com/moreholidays/march.htm and make something. This sight is not your typical holiday site. It has some really fun holidays you might want to craft about. For example, National pig day or Peanut Butter Lovers Day. lol. I picked Fragrance Day which is on March 21st. To take part in this challenge and others to come, you need to head over to Abby's blog by clicking HERE. You can also get a look at the other DT member creations. Leave your project there under the MR. Linky there. There is also a chance to win some candy. :D
I really hope you decide to join us on this and all of the challenges. We have two per month every two weeks so come craft with us and share your talents.. :D
A big thanks to our sponsor http://www.cosmocricket.com/ for Challenge #1.
I decided a vintage perfume tag was in order for this challenge.
*The poem is something I found online and is not by me.*
For this challenge, I used the Forever Young Cricut Cartridge. The perfume bottle is cut at 3.8 inches (using my Gypsy) and .22 thickness chipboard.
The flip feature was used to make sure that the back piece of paper fit properly.
The paper is from Stampin UP.
I used my 450 adhesive to glue down my paper. I inked up the edges and all around the center with chocolate chip ink (Stampin Up)and Ancient Rome ink (Angle Company) to add the aged look.
I then used my sparkle Mod Podge all over the front and back of the tag.
The stamp on the front is from the Scrappy Moms Love Notes stamp set. I used StazOn black ink for that.
I used some tinsel ribbon for the perfume tube to give it some glimmer. :D
Lots of bling and pearls were used on this project. I ♥ Bling.
Two Prima roses were added to complete the vintage feel of the tag.
Gold tinsel ribbon was used on both sides of the tube of the bottle to add some shimmery flair and give it a more rounded look.
The finishing touch is on the bulb of the bottle. I used Crackle Accents to make it look as if it had been squeezed and added some pearls around it.
I hope you all enjoyed my first DT project and also that you take part in the challenge yourself.
HUGS and Blessings,
